Climate Change and Extreme Weather Pilot Program Informational Webinars

To the Attention of Division Administrators and Federal Lands Highway Division Engineers:

The purpose of this message is to inform you that FHWA will hold two informational webinars about our current solicitation for climate change and extreme weather vulnerability assessment and adaptation options pilot projects. On behalf of the Office of Infrastructure and the Office of Planning, Environment and Realty, we ask that you please share this information with your transportation partners. The webinars are intended for State DOTs, MPOs, Federal Land Management Agencies, and Tribal Governments interested in participating in the pilot program. In each webinar, FHWA staff will provide a brief overview of FHWA’s Climate Change and Extreme Weather Vulnerability Assessment Framework. FHWA will give an overview of the pilot program and general parameters for the pilots. And there will be lots of time set aside for Q&A. The webinars are scheduled for:

Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 2:00-3:00 Eastern (Register) and

Tuesday, December 18, 2012 from 3:00-4:00 Eastern (Register).

Registration is free and can be completed up to the day of the event.  For more information on the pilot program, visit the pilot program website.  If you have any questions about the webinars or pilot program, please contact Becky Lupes (202-366-7808 or [email protected]).
